The downtown Macon area has really improved over the last few years and Kudzu Seafood Company is a very nice spot to check out. Nothing fancy but a good spot before heading to a show at the Macon City Auditorium. The food was tasty & presented well. We started with the grilled oysters on the half shell which were done nicely & topped with parmigiana cheese & lemon juice. The oysters were from Louisiana and were a nice size & were cooked spot on! I had the Jambalaya as my entree & my wife had The LGC (lobster grilled cheese) which my dish was an ok jambalaya as the rice was kind of dry but did have ample amount of seafood. The LGC on the other hand was delicious as there wasn't anything left on my wife's plate. The service was good and there is a good supply of beer choices though limited on draft. I would recommend checking it out for a nice evening out.

Went in with a friend just before 8pm on a Thursday night. Got seated promptly , server said she'd be with us. But then waited almost 25mins for service. So much so the hostess came and asked if we'd ordered or wanted drinks! We were about to walk out when the server appeared.! Limited options as we noticed most places close at 9. We got our order in and it seemed with minutes food and drinks were out. The sausage was interesting and tasted good. Very good po boy, with huge shrimp. Great sandwich.

My family chose to have a dinner here and they were able to accommodate our large party. There was some confusion at first about where we could be seated, but they figured it out and things went smoothly from there. We all ordered so many different items and everyone enjoyed their food. I had the shrimp and grits which were delectable and my drink was tasty too. The prices were also very reasonable and affordable. I would definitely try this restaurant again.

Spent the night in Macon on our way to Florida. Macon's downtown area is all lit up in lights after Thanksgiving. Anyway went to Kudzu Seafood and it was some of the best seafood we have ever had. We started with oysters Bienville (came with a grilled lemon to squeeze on them and horseradish, yum) and then shared the Pappas fried combination platter. It came with fried grouper fingers, fried oysters and fried shrimp. You get 2 sides we opted to upgrade to lobster bisque and gumbo. Everything was excellent. Service was outstanding.

We have family in town & decided to check out the downtown lights. We came in around 8:40pm with a party of 8 and were seated within 10 minutes!! They even sat us in area so my mom wouldn't be far from her scooter (thank you so much). Our sever Lee'Ann was very sweet & informative. Our food came quickly and was hot. this was an amazing first experience at this restaurant. We will definitely return. The catfish was Amazing!!

Visiting Macon and found this little gem. Being from the Gulf Coast too I wanted to see how good their seafood was. The old downtown is in a rebirth with many restaurants and pubs. First impression is good. Clean and bright storefront with friendly folks. Nautical and local info motif. Seated quickly just before the lunch rush. Being new we chatted with our server, Monica, and she assisted in explaining a few items. She was helpful and very efficient. Most items are available fried or grilled. I ordered the Grouper fingers with Jam Pups. The Jam Pups are basically a scoop of Jambalaya rolled and then quickly deep fried. Ohhh, these could be a meal of their own. The fish is battered perfectly and flaky. Wife ordered the grilled shrimp with firecracker sauce and cheese grits. She's not a grit person but she thought they were very good; I tried some too and they are good . We topped the lunch off with a shared slice of the Lemon Ice Box Pie. Smooth, tart but not to tart. Overall a very tasty and well done lunch. A bit pricey for lunch but good seafood tends to be that way
